Food: The Green Parrot

Real, slow-food, family-style, sit-down fried chicken restaurants are a vanishing phenomenon. I have a fond memory of going to one white-tablecloth fried chicken restaurant, the Green Parrot, as a child. I couldn't even tell you for certain if it was the Kansas City or the Kirkwood Green Parrot, but I certainly remember the chicken. And the parrot.

Idly Googling for a memory refresher, I found that the Vintage Kansas City website has a Green Parrot page, complete with recipes. So I had to offer the links here.
