SOTD: Issey Miyake A Scent

I haven't worn this in a little while. I remembered it as being a little ruffly-feminine, and I've never been the ruffly-feminine type. It seemed particularly wrong for today, when the temperature was expected to flirt with one hundred degrees Fahrenheit, and the air was unusually humid, and I expected to be rushing around in the resulting hot soup.

So, naturally, I wore it. And it was perfect. Much to my surprise, in the heat it develops an aspect that goes nicely with, well, sweat. The combination makes me think of salty lemonade. Weird, but good.

Review Roundup: Is here.

SOTD: Issey Miyake A Scent

Why do I like this one so much? It's sweet - I'm not a big fan of sweet. It's "fresh" - I hate it when salesfolks tell me how fresh something is. It's candy, I don't like candy fragrances, and I love it.

I'm just fickle.

SOTE - Issey Miyake A Scent

Green Leaves
My SOTD sample was disappointing, so for my Scent Of The Evening I'm Moving On to a big refreshing drink of soft green - Issey Miyake's A Scent.

I don't know why I love this one so much - it's so utterly inoffensive that I should disapprove. I've more than once said that art requires at least a strong risk of offense.

But it's, well, beautiful.

I can't put it any better than that, so I'll point to the reviews at Fragrance Bouquet and I Smell Therefore I Am and Sorcery Of Scent and Perfume Posse and Grain de Musc by people who can. (And people who don't so necessarily agree.)

Edited to add a review from Bois de Jasmin. And now one from Perfume Shrine. And nioi.
