SOTD: Frederic Malle Le Parfum de Therese

Fruity.

We pause here to listen to the echoing in my empty mind.

Fruity and beautiful.

It's a lovely fragrance. I'll offer more, on another day.

  1. I love the illustrating pic.

Have never been even slightly tempted by LPdT. I think it's the description "fruity chypre," as I haven't enjoyed a single one of those (Mitsouko, So Pretty, Yvresse) I've tried. Glad somebody else does, though: variation is good.

  2. I am with Mals on this one - I find LPdT strangely discordant - there is also something animalic in there that bothers me.

  3. Mals! Pretty, isn't it? I was hunting around looking at fruit photographs, then saw that and realized, "Of course."

Yes, I tend to dislike fruit fragrances, and every time I get my first whiff of this one, I expect to dislike it, and then it shortly wins me over. I'm not sure enough yet to pay for it - luckily, I have two decent-sized samples, so I'll have enough to make sure with.

Hey, flittersniffer! That's interesting - I'm not getting the animalic notes, but I've seen more than one mention of them in the reviews. There seem to be a few notes that I can't smell at all - I wonder if I'm not really smelling Therese as designed.
