SOTD: Parfumerie Generale Cadjmere

That's a cashmere goat over there. Cute, huh? But pretty cranky-looking.

(Yes, this is going to be one of those brain-not-in-gear SOTD posts. What gave you the clue?)

Today I sprayed on Parfumerie Generale Cadjmere, and loved it for the first couple of hours. Then it started to seem just a bit oversweet for the warming weather.

It looks like the seasonal craving shift is happening, whether I like it or not. Problem is, it's not finished yet. I don't want Cadjmere, and I don't want Cristalle. What do I wear while I'm waiting?

Review Roundup: Is here.

  1. I got burnt coconut and wood in this and am happy to report that the sample has emigrated to Stockholm, where it is starting a new life with someone who appreciates it. Me, I am sampling Aomassai today, prompted by an earlier post of yours, I think. I thought I had given it away, but whilst repatriating my perfume bottles in their fridge today (following the installation of a new fridge in the kitchen) I came across it and thought I'd give it a spin. Too spicy, though improves with time.

  2. Hey, flittersniffer! Y'know, I wonder if in winter, you perceive/develop some of these perfumes the same way that I perceive/develop them in summer. That is, in cold weather I can't imagine Aomassai being too spicy, but in warm weather, absolutely, it would be. And after trying Cadjmere in warm temperatures yesterday, yep, I can see the "burnt coconut".

Maybe you have a summer nose/skin and I have a winter nose/skin. And now that I say that it sounds familiar. Did you or someone else state exactly that theory at some point?

  3. I don't believe I said exactly that, though I did say that I had been diagnosed as having "green and fresh" skin, which sounds pretty darn summery to me!

  4. Yes! I think that's what I'm remembering.
