SOTD: Parfumerie Generale Papyrus de Ciane

I love Parfumerie Generale and I love green fragrances. So I've been very excited about Parfumerie Generale Papyrus de Ciane. My decant arrived today (woohoo!) and I promptly put some on.

And it's not at all what I expected. Which, now that I think about it, shouldn't be, well, unexpected. Parfumerie Generale is always different; that's why I love it.

But I'm going to have to put my expectations aside and re-experience a full wearing before I commit to anything like a review. So I'm just going to say that I'm very much enjoying the barely-grainy drydown, and return another day (tomorrow, maybe?) with a longer opinion.

  1. I tried this on Thursday but sadly not on skin. Kicking myself as I have no sample and would like to live with it for a bit longer as you are doing, before forming a view.

It was very interesting, for sure.

  2. Were you as surprised as I was? Somehow I expected something closer to a classic green - I'm not complaining, and of course the whole reason for my excitement was that Parfumerie Generale would put their own wonderful take on it. But I was still surprised.

  3. I tried that a little while ago. I liked the green astrigency but in the end I found it too bitter for me.

  4. Hey, kjanicki! I tend to like bitter, but now I'm having trouble smelling anything but the top notes. :(

  5. It was an odd bitter to me...had the smell of a pinky ball in it. ;) Have not lost it, though, as you have, ChickenFreak...keep us posted. (As I see you did today.)

  6. Howdy do, ScentScelf! Pinky ball? Now I have to sniff for that.
